Software Engineer - Automated Test in Aviation, Garmin International Inc., June 2021-Present

  • Collaborated with Embedded Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Project Managers, and Process Engineers to create automated testing equipment and software to support the development/production of safety critical avionics (DO-178).
  • Designed high speed applications for embedded development and analysis of avionic equipment
  • Created scripts to automate integrity/version checks of the software development process.

    University Involvement

    Controls Team Member, Cardinal Space Mining, January 2019-May 2019

  • Worked as a team with other electrical and computer engineers on NASA sponsored project to create a mining rover to compete against other universities.
  • Helped design, test, and code telemetry to allow the rover to become autonomous for the first time.
  • Designed and tested a battery power management shield compatible with Arduino for the rover.

  • Lead a group of four students in designing, creating, and purchasing parts for an autonomous quadcopter.
  • Programed an Arduino 101 that included an accelerometer and gyroscope to fly and correct the quadcopter so it could reach its destination coordinates that were transmitted over Bluetooth.
